Kathy Fridstein, principal and creative director, launched aftertheimage in 2006. With a background in fine art and experience in marketing, Kathy brings a balance of artfulness and practical business sense to her design practice that is apparent in the firm’s work. Kathy is an experienced professional, always passionate about her work, with the goal of providing compelling and innovative design that will strengthen her client’s position.
At aftertheimage we recognize that each client has individual needs. Providing a design solution is a collaborative process of discovery that requires patience, experience, and communication. We listen and work together with our clients to produce a creative and convincing design solution that produces real results.
ABOUT Kathy Fridstein
Kathy received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and extended her studies in graphic design at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle. She has had a varied professional background. Kathy’s fine art experience includes teaching photography for over 20 years as well as widely exhibiting her work regionally and nationally. She was one of three artists prominently featured in the show “Altered Images” at the Seattle Art Museum. Kathy initially honed her marketing skills working as the west coast admissions representative for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to launching aftertheimage she was the director of marketing and in-house designer for the Union Bay Cafe.
Since 2007 Kathy has held the position of Director of Community Outreach on the board of AIGA Seattle, the local chapter of the professional association for design.
